Simple Creatures Are Bored Security Guards In Spooky 'Adrenaline' Video

On Thursday (April 25), Simple Creatures revealed their first narrative-driven music video for their single "Adrenaline." And it's a good one.

Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth play bored security guards who just so happen to patrol a morgue. As they sit at their desks, passing time by playing baseball with batons and catching crumbled up pieces of paper in their mouths, two new bodies get delivered and they're, well, not quite dead.

The corpses begin moving from their tables, singing along to the song and wiggling their toes to the beat. Eventually, two bodies that appear to have had a romantic relationship when they were alive get off their tables and run amuck in the building. Hoppus and Gaskarth go to investigate, but never come across the rogue walking dead and instead play Jedi, pretending their flashlights are lightsabers.

Though light hearted and even laugh-out-loud funny at times, "Adrenaline" truly is a beautifully haunting visual. Watch the video below.

"Adrenaline" is featured on the duo's debut EP Strange Love. Hoppus' other band blink-182 is also working on a new album, and he recently explained how he thinks this project will end up influencing blink.

"I think that the writing process for Simple Creatures has informed how I want to approach blink in the future," he said. "Not necessarily stylistically or things like that, but just trying to get away from picking up an acoustic guitar and writing from there. Trying to write more based around rhythm.”
